Some punter on Elemental an ace Fb 6c problem at Thorn Crag. Lancashire grit at it's best
Another grey day in Lancaster looking like rain but I decided to risk it and head up to Thorn Crag to try Mothership Reconnection a classic V7/Fb 7a+ overhanging column. After the 30 minute up the hill just as the crag was suppose to come into viewthe clag came in and I could see not much further than five meters in front of me. After a bit of a magical mystery tour through time, space and thick lancashire cloud I found the sea view boulders. I got warmed up on a few of the easier problems. Things felt damp and gritty but some stuff was climbable but unfortunatley anthing that faced the sea was green and damp this included all the left handside holds on the column that is Mothership reconnection. I bailed to try some of the problems on the trackside boulders. These were a little damp but with a brush and some chalk I managed to send the roof problem of 2001 a grit odyssey (V5/Fb 6c+) and elemental(V5/Fb6c). Then I went to do battle with the sitting start arete of Knights of the turntables (V5/Fb 6c). This turned out to be a good problem a bit like 7 ball at burbage south edge but i didn't get the tick with me slipping off the last moves twice due to them getting damp quickly in the clag. Definetley a good problem worth heading back for!
