Burbage Valley

Laurie having a go on All Quiet V3 and Ian on Cleo's Edge V1

Met Sully, Steve and Laurie and after a wet start we ended up in the Burbage valley. First stop off was the banana finger area at Burbage North. Myself and Steve got stuck in pretty quickly climbing banana arete V2, Banana Finger V3 and banana finger direct V4/5 (click here). Sully got frustratingly close on banana finger direct but couldn't quite hold the flat crimp. We moved across to try little brown thug V5. Steve managed to dispatch this really quickly for the rest of us it was a reach to far. Next stop was the excellent micro route All Quiet on the Eastern Front E1 6a or V3 with pads. Steve and I managed this delightful problem(Click here). Sully had ago but with sore skin from a manic day on the grit the day before, found the sloper hard to hold. Then it was time to tackle the two classic V4 at the remergence area. Steve and I managed to climb the hanging rib and the old school classic remergence. Both good problems. Sully and Laurie got stuck into working the moves getting close to unlocking the problem.
Just as we finished up at the remergence area Ian turned up with Stuart and Sue.The banter all kicked off with Ian taking piss out of my butler and brush set. We took them to the Sphinx area. With most of the party climbing Cleo's Edge V1 and roof Goofe V3. Steve and I had a go at Jetty Nose V3. Steve managed to get this I found the sloping top out and hasty fall a bit off putting. No man up points for me!
The next stop off was the burbage South Boulders. First stop off was the pock block. I quickly repeated pock man V1, pock V2 and puck V3. Laurie and I both managed the Cobra Traverse at V2 whilst Ian and Sully worked pock till there skin was sore.
Last boulder of the day was the sheep boulder. Where I was happy to reclimb the sheep problem V5. Unfortunately Sully failed to catch this on camera muppet!
All of us then bailed back to the cars after a satisfying skin shredding day on the grit. Much banter and fun was had! Good to see everyone!
