After slice land approval I managed to get a couple of hours up at Thorn Crag this morning. I was psyched to climb Mothership reconnection after putting in a good few hours trying this problem in spring. Bad skin and conditions meant I failed in spring. Today was different and after the slog up the hill ( this seems longer every time I do it) and completing the lovely warm up circuit I was ready to do battle with the problem. Had a couple of goes to reacquaint myself with the moves and decided on a toe round the arete instead of a heal. I then turned the camera on to hopefully vainly capture my glory. Sat down pulled on and sent it with ease. Everything felt good and I was buzzing. So I climbed it again and set the camera up from another angle to get more vanity footage. I was so psyched to complete my first grit font 7a+ it's amazing how a handful of moves on a 2m block of gritstone can make you so satisfied. Ace! Absolutely buzzing ( I had consumed 1/2 litre of blue charge) I moved over to try Fix mySink a cool looking font 7b which makes a long dynamic move to a sloper. This owned me so I bailed back to lancaster for gammon and ice cream!

Well done big man. Lad to see you are still cranking hard! I tried to get to the Aberdeen coast yesterday but it was all under water. Gutted!
Brilliant effort big-man!! Gonna get in some serious training between now and Christmas, if we can organise a couple of days out I might keep up with you this time!!
