Carrock - sore skin

Pete and Cobra on undercut arete

With a good weather forcast and psyched mid week banter from pete a trip to carrock was planned. I met pete 'black dog' phillips and stu 'cobra heel' for eleven at the north group boulders.

After a warm up we got stuck into sloper arete (Fb 7a). Cobra dispatched it with ease. Unfortunatley pete and I thrashed around on it loosing skin. I fell off the top moves twice then couldn't get into the holds again. Frustrated we wandered over to the classic arete. Pete and Cobra dispatched the sitting start (Fb 6c+)with ease. I was left floundering again. I had loads of goes before it eventually went. In the meantime Cobra dispatched most of the harder lines on the bloc. The man was a machine!

We then headed up to sing a rainbow a problem with funky moves up a prow/arete to a slopey top out. This felt much harder than Fb 7a and with poor skin i was forced to leave it for another day. Cobra the machine managed to get it and then sent mile high wall at Fb 7b.

We then headed back to the car via the undercut boulder. Cobra cleaned up most of the lines on this whilst me and pete watched licking our wounds.

A good day but a poor performance from me!
