Brimham/Ilkley

The Cow and Calf (left) and Sully latching the jug on Bonington's Classic Dyno V2 (Right)
Camped overnight in Grassington and woke to a wet day. Headed to Brimham in search of quick drying rock. Got rinsed at the national trust car park for £3.50 and then staggered amongst all the beautifully weathered grit stone pinnacles. Unfortunately we couldn’t find any dry rock so we decided we would go to the supposedly quick drying problems at Ilkley.
This wasn’t much better most of the rock was damp and slimy. Sully and I both managed to get out sore tips up a dampish V2 called Short Circuit in the quarried section. After another half an hour of searching for dry problems on the edge we landed up at the massive calf boulder and got stuck into the classic Bonington’s Classic Dyno (V2). We both managed this after a few goes despite the finishing hold being a bit damp.
After latching, matching and dispatching this problem we headed back to Lancaster. On the journey back we decided both venues seemed like good places and we were rather gutted it was wet today. Many problems to go back to!
